After the book format publications, I decided to use http://www.moo.com to print off some of the images as postcards. There are other photographers who have used this format for their photobook. However, I have not been able to get my hands on a version of any of them to review – they all seem to be out of stock at the moment.
As a child, I collected postcards and they have always been an attractive way for me to collect images of artwork etc. Video 1 shows how the publication could work if the cards came in a box.

I decided to see what the cards would look like in an old postcard album. I picked one up for less than £5 off eBay. The limitations with this are that the cards need to in the landscape format otherwise you are continually turning the book to look at the images. Video 2 shows how this could look.

Whilst I like the tactility that this gives the work, the publication would be limited by the availability of old postcard albums. Also, as can be seen in the video, the size of the modern postcards is not suited to the slots cut in these old albums.
Another alternative is a postcard book. As well as being a photobook, this would be a great promotional tool for my practice. I have mocked up a book in figure 1.

A beautiful object in its own right, the book would also have a second life when individual postcards are taken out and sent to recipients.
This is an interesting format to consider. In order for the cards to be easily removable without damage, the book would not be as perfectly bound as other books. The individual postcards would be glued loosely into the spine so that they could be removed individually leaving the remainder of the book intact.
The method would most likely involve a degree of hand-finishing, as the books would need to be glued by hand and bound with a cloth spine.
Other photographers who have used this method of publishing their work include William Eggleston as shown below.

This may be a method of publication that I come back to in the future.
